Drawing: Zen Number One

This work mixes subtle figurative elements, based on a sketch by Michelangelo, with abstract riffing that explores, without filling, the remaining space.

This is a perfect visual representation of the Zen mind, an uncentered awareness that Westerners, trapped in their overly focused and logocentric thought patterns, find difficult to understand. Instead of "trying" to understand Zen, merely contemplate this work and you will instead simply "see" it.
