Claudia Ahlering is a German figurative painter who got her toehold in the art world by being a bit cute and female. Now in her 40s she is "on the turn" and trying hard to regain the attention she once had as a young blonde female artist. She recently had a show in Tokyo with the result that I found this rather unfortunate "double self portrait" in my mailbox. Yes, I get it, we live in an age of narcissism. Don't add to it.
